The Masters of Health Informatics program is now accepting applicants for the Fall 2008 class.

Enrollment will be limited to 10 full-time students and 15 part-time students.

The program emphasizes the role of informatics trained professionals as liaisons who brings both a background of medicine as well as knowledge of information technology to the task of solving health care problems. The curriculum consists of 32 credits of coursework that includes:

8 credits of health informatics

4 credits of technology-focused health administration

3 credits of statistics and research design

6 credits of coursework in the student's chosen area of specialization

6 credits of electives

2 credits of Seminar

3 credit Capstone course in which the student will complete a project directly applicable to their own work environment.

The program has several new features that will make it more friendly to working health professionals.

  •   The program is designed to be completed in one calendar year for full time students and in up to three years for part-time students.


  •   Many of the classes will be offered in the late afternoon and on Saturdays. Classes may also meet monthly or semi-monthly. Distance learning technologies will facilitate work and class participation at off-campus locations.
